Authorities investigating possible Delphi link after man arrested in Colorado

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – A man arrested for allegedly threatening people with a hatchet on a Colorado trail may reportedly be linked to other crimes, including one in Indiana involving two murdered Delphi teens.

Police in Woodland Park say the suspect, 31-year-old Daniel Nations, was arrested while driving a vehicle with expired Indiana license plates Monday, according to a document.

FOX59 spoke with authorities in Colorado who said Nations was arrested near the same trail in Colorado where a bicyclist was shot to death two weeks ago.

“When we were made aware of some tips that involved a double homicide in Indiana we did contact law enforcement out there, it is their case, and we will not be speaking to it, because we do not know their case,” Jacque Kirby with the El Paso County Colorado Sheriff’s Office told us.

No arrests have been made yet in that murder and authorities have not said whether they think Nations might be involved.

Following Nations’ arrest, authorities reportedly reached out to Indiana State Police after receiving a tip from a local news outlet.

Indiana State Police released the following statement:

“We are aware of the arrest of the person in Colorado and are investigating to see if

A Queens woman was charged with manslaughter for her alleged involvement in the death of a 31-year-old woman in July. The victim, Latesha Bynum, had received a “black market” butt injection and died in the hospital 12 days later after suffering dizziness and chest pains.

Bynum had gone to an appointment for the butt enhancement on July 15th. The “doctor” apparently used a Dunkin’ Donuts nearby as a “waiting room,” and the “nurse,” Allison Spence, met her there and took her to a Gramercy Park apartment for the procedure.

After the injection, Bynum went home but fell ill in the evening. Her brother said, “She went to the hospital and couldn’t breathe, and whatever was in her went to her head. She was brain dead and she had zero chance to basically come back from it.” Bynum died on July 27th.

A lawyer for Bynum’s family claimed to WCBS 2 that the alleged doctor “had a pattern of injecting unsuspecting women with ‘silicone poison into his patients’ buttocks and/or thighs.”

Spence, 44, was charged with manslaughter and “unauthorized practice of a profession” for the injection.

Carroll Co. Sheriff investigating possible link between Colorado suspect and Delphi murders

DELPHI, Ind. (WTHR) – The Carroll County Sheriff confirmed they’re looking to see if an Indiana man arrested in Colorado is connected to the Delphi murders of Liberty German and Abigail Williams, according to NBC station WNDU.

“We are aware of the arrest of the person in Colorado and are investigating to see if he could be a suspect in the Delphi double murder investigation,” Indiana State Police said in a statement to WTHR. “Please keep in mind the Indiana State Police has received more than a thousand photos of persons alleged to be similar in appearance to the composite sketch of the Delphi person of interest. Second robbery suspect arrested from Sept. 20 holdups

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — It appears armed robbery suspect Zachary Nicholas Whitus used some help in the two hold-ups early Sept. 20, according to Lafayette police.

Lafayette police arrested 22-year-old Jacob Walter Farris Thursday evening at his home at 912 Wabash Ave., according to Lafayette police. Farris faces two preliminary charges of armed robbery. He also is wanted on a warrant from another county, according to jail records.

Farris and Whitus are suspected of robbing the Marathon gas station at 900 Ferry St. about 3:15 a.m. Sept. 20. Roughly 10 minutes later while police were investigating that robbery, someone held up the Friendly Market at 3112 Underwood St.

The next day, police arrested Whitus after he ran from them during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a Clay County warrant, and further investigations tied him to the robberies, according to police.

But Whitus has facial hair, and as some readers pointed out after police published his arrest, the clerk at the Marathon station told police that the bandit who held up the store was clean

Queens woman in fatal back-alley butt-lift hit with manslaughter rap

A Queens woman is facing manslaughter charges for acting as a nurse during a botched back-alley butt lift that left a Harlem mom dead over the summer.

Allison Spence, 44, was picked up by cops on Thursday and charged with manslaughter and unauthorized practice of a profession for her role in thedeath of 31-year-old Latesha Bynum.

“That’s the most beautiful news I heard,” Bertie Bynum, 51, Latesha’s mother, told the Daily News of the arrest.

“They took my daughter. She should be in jail. She should do life.”

Death of Harlem mom who got bad butt surgery deemed a homicide

Authorities ruled Bynum’s death a homicide earlier this month.

Bynum met with a “nurse” in a Gramercy Park Dunkin’ Donuts that the doctor who performed her fatal surgery used as his waiting room on July 15.

She was then escorted to a residential building on E. 21st St. near First Ave., across from Stuyvesant Town, for the silicone injection sessions.

There was weed, fisticuffs, a Taser that didn’t work. Then a crowd gathered, cops say

One minute, Junior Savoir and Jairo Jose Medina were sitting on a seawall in Miami Beach smoking weed.

Then police arrived. Soon elbows and fists flew. Police deployed a Taser — to no affect, they said — and a crowd gathered.

When calm was finally restored, Savoir, 36 and Medina, 26, were arrested and charged with a slew of crimes including resisting arrest and drug possession. At one point, police said Savoir threw a violent elbow that cut an officer’s head.

Police responded with blows of their own. Savoir’s mugshot shows his left eye swollen completely shut.

“While in officer Garcia’s grasp he was able to deliver five closed fist strikes to … Savoir’s facial area in order to gain compliance and place him in custody,” an officer wrote in Savoir’s arrest affidavit.

According to Miami Beach police, the spiraling series of events began at 11 p.m. Wednesday when two officers riding ATVs and dressed in full uniform approached Savoir and Medina as they sat on the seawall on Ocean Drive and Eighth Street.

Police, who said they smelled marijuana, said the two men were by themselves. When asked if they had marijuana, Savoir responded, “Yea, I got some weed
