Man accused of posing as maintenance worker in Arlington sex assault arrested, police say

– Arlington County police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a woman nearly one year ago inside her Arlington apartment after allegedly posing as a maintenance worker to get inside.

Officials say 25-year-old Richard Allen Lowe, of Washington D.C., was charged for his involvement in the May 7, 2017 sexual assault at the Atrium Condominium in the 1500 block of Key Boulevard in Arlington.

Lowe is facing charges of abduction with intent to defile and malicious wounding. He is being held without bond.

Police say Lowe was arrested in D.C. on Feb. 22 and they tracked him down through a call he made while in the building.

“This case really came down to dedicated detective work,” said Arlington County police spokesperson Ashley Savage.

It was surveillance footage of the suspect that ultimately led police to him.
