An expired registration plate led to one arrest and the seizure of eight pounds of marijuana Thursday, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported late Friday.
Deputies stopped a Honda Accord on South Elm Street in Greenville deputies Thursday night, a news release said. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a small amount of cocaine and 8.6 pounds of marijuana in eight vacuum packed plastic bags.
Deputies arrested Latifa Salim, 23, 116 Leadenhall Way, Raleigh. She was charged with possession with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana; felony possession of cocaine; maintain a vehicle for the sale of controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and operate a motor vehicle on a street or highway displaying expired registration plates.
She was jailed at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
