Wayne Rooney’s took £300,000-a-week to quit British football for America, but what’s the result?

THE mugshot said it all. Disgraced and dejected, Wayne Rooney stares impassively into the police camera following his arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority for public intoxication and swearing. 

Six months after his American dream began, the question is being asked: are the Rooneys washed up in Washington? 

Sources close to the family this week said they are ‘bored’ with their new American life and struggling to adjust to a diminished social scene.
