Police Ask Internet Users To Stop Making Fun Of Man’s Mugshot Or Be Arrested •

A police department is warning online users not to make fun of a Wales man’s mugshot or else they could be arrested for harassment.

Metro UK reports 21-year-old Jermaine Taylor’s mugshot was uploaded on the Gwent Police Department’s Facebook page to ask the public to help find him. Taylor is currently wanted by police after he was released on license after serving three years in prison but violated his conditions upon release. However, Taylor’s mugshot received over 76,000 comments due to his hairstyle.

However, the Gwent Police Department is urging commenters not to make fun of the mugshot or risk being arrested for harassment.

‘Please remember that harassing, threatening and abusing people on social media can be against the law. ‘Our advice is to be as careful on social media as you would in any other form of communication. ‘If you say something about someone which is grossly offensive or is of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, then you could be investigated by the police.’
