Arrest details, mugshot released of Parkland shooting suspect

The Broward County Jail has released the arrest information for suspected Parkland gunman Nikolas Cruz.

Cruz was arrested Wednesday after allegedly shooting several students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17.

The 19-year-old has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.

Police said Cruz was armed with multiple magazines and at least one AR-15 style rifle.

The AR-15 was traced and two law enforcement officials told ABC News the firearm was legally purchased by Cruz within the past year from a federally licensed dealer.

The legal age to purchase a firearm from a federally licensed dealer is 18.

Investigators believe the suspect pulled the school’s fire alarm to draw people out and get a higher death toll, according to a law enforcement source.

Cruz was a student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School before being expelled for disciplinary reasons.

He is being held without bond.

“They took this kid in. They had no predilection that anything like this was going to happen,” said attorney James Lewis. “He was a very mild mannered kid. He’s going through some tough times with losing his mom, but he obeyed all the house rules. He lived there without any concerns or issues for almost three months and they are shocked and horrified by the allegations

Police arrest suspect wanted in January’s brazen armed robbery at local convenience store

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police have arrested a man who they believe was the gunman in January’s violent armed robbery in Gaston County that was caught on camera.

Back in late January, NBC Charlotte received a dramatic surveillance video that captured a gunman robbing the Lowell Mini Mart on McAdenville Road and attacking a clerk and her teenage son right in front of the clerk’s 4-year-old grandson.

Brice’s mugshot is from Monday’s arrest after he was accused of boarding a school bus as a registered sex offender.

Investigators previously said Brice boarded a bus filled with Bessemer City Primary School Students back in January despite being banned from any premises “that have a primary purpose of caring for children.”

Brice was convicted of indecent liberties with a

Wochit

Knoxville police officers and a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper arrested a man accused of leading authorities on a 100-mph car chase on Monday afternoon.

The man — identified by THP Sgt. Jeff Appleba as 42-year-old David J. Haynes Jr. — initially eluded capture after authorities decided the chase was too dangerous to continue.

Just before 6:30 p.m., police found and arrested Haynes inside the Summit Towers apartment complex on Locust Street near downtown Knoxville.

Appleba said the chase began in West Knoxville when he pulled over Haynes for not wearing a seat belt. Haynes, allegedly driving a Honda Civic, stopped the car on the shoulder of the Interstate 40 West on-ramp near West Town Way.
