Report: Former MLB All-Star Esteban Loaiza arrested with 20 kilos of drugs

According to a report, former All-Star pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested in San Diego a few days ago with what looks like a drug stash belonging to a major drug trafficker. He faces felony drug charges as he had 20 kilos of either cocaine or heroin, based upon the police report that Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports tweeted out: 

That’s close to 50 pounds worth of drugs. Loaiza is being held on a $200,000 bond and heads to court on Wednesday. 

Loaiza, 46, was 126-114 with a 4.65 ERA in 2,099 career innings over his 14-year career. He pitched with the Pirates, Rangers, White Sox, Blue Jays, Athletics, Dodgers, Nationals and Yankees. His peak was 2003, when he was 21-9 with a 2.90 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and AL-best

Here is full police report, mug shot for Jets’ Robby Anderson’s felony arrest in Florida

Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson on Friday was arrested in South Florida for the second time in less than a year. 

NJ Advance Media obtained the full arrest report from police in Sunrise, Fla., where Anderson was arrested. (Sunrise is just west of Fort Lauderdale. According to the police report, Anderson resides in Sunrise.) You can find that report down below.

A warning about the report: It includes Anderson vulgarly telling the officer who arrested him that he was going to have sex with the officer’s wife. 

The arrest report made no mention of Anderson perhaps being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or being given a field sobriety or breathalyzer test. 

“There was no blood taken or any other test done on Robby Anderson,” a police spokesman told NJ Advance Media. 

The spokesman also said there is no dash or body camera video footage of the incident. 

Anderson, 24, is facing the following nine charges:

1. Felony fleeing and eluding police with lights and sirens active 

2. Felony threatening a public servant or family member 

3. Misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence 

4. Misdemeanor reckless driving 

5. Failure to drive in a single lane 

6. Disobeying/avoiding a red light 

7. Disobeying/avoiding a red light (second count) 

8. Exceeding speed limit by 50 mph

After being arrested in South Florida for the second straight offseason, Jets WR Robby Anderson is in serious trouble.

Anderson, 24, is facing a total of nine charges after being arrested in Sunrise, Fla., on Friday, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s website.

Here is a breakdown of the charges, two of which are felonies:

  1. Felony threatening a public servant or family member
  2. Felony fleeing and eluding police with lights and sirens active
  3. Misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence
  4. Misdemeanor reckless driving
  5. Failure to drive in a single lane
  6. Disobeying/avoiding a red light
  7. Disobeying/avoiding a red light (second count)
  8. Speed limit third violation (exceeding limit by 50 mph or more)
  9. Turning when unsafe/without signaling

Anderson was arrested at 2:15 a.m. by officer Jonathan B. Hennessy. According to a police report obtained by, Anderson was driving 105 mph in a 45 mph zone for roughly three-quarters of a mile.

After eluding officers, Anderson did not settle down once arrested. The report claims he used vulgar language and, while in the back of the patrol car, threatened to sexually assault the officer’s wife.

“He continued to make verbal threats towards my family,” Hennessy wrote in the report.

Report: LiAngelo Ball, other players arrested have to stay in China for ‘a week or two’

The three UCLA basketball players arrested on shoplifting charges Tuesday — LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley — will not be on the team’s flight back to Los Angeles following UCLA’s season-opening win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Instead, according to ESPN, they will remain in Hangzhou for “a week or two” longer.

Ball, Riley and Hill were questioned for allegedly stealing sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store near the team’s hotel in Hangzhou earlier this week, where the team stayed before leaving for Shanghai on Tuesday. They were arrested Tuesday and released on bail early Wednesday morning, however they’ve been staying at a lakeside hotel since as the legal process continues to play itself out, forcing them to miss Friday night’s season-opener.

To pile on to the precarious situation, ESPN also reports that the Louis Vuitton theft isn’t the only store the trio got sticky fingers.

A source with firsthand knowledge of the investigation said the players could be in Hangzhou for “a week or two.” The source noted that there is surveillance footage of the players shoplifting from three stores inside of a high-end shopping center, which houses Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent

Report: Hawks guard Dennis Schroder arrested on misdemeanor battery charge

Dennis Schroder of the Atlanta Hawks was arrested early Thursday morning on a misdemeanor battery charge and has been released on bail, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
