We have zero tolerance for anyone who preys on children – an individual found guilty of such a heinous crime should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. We are entrusted with the lives of young people every day and our employees accept that honor and privilege very seriously. When that trust is violated, it is, in fact, a despicable crime that deserves swift and harsh consequences under the law. Substitutes and volunteer coaches are all background checked but unfortunately that’s not a predictor of future activity. My appreciation to Robertsdale Police and our judicial system

YUKON, Okla. – A metro high school teacher was taken into custody Wednesday night on rape charges.

Hunter Day, 22,  was placed late Wednesday in the Canadian County Jail on multiple charges, including second-degree rape.

Hunter Day, Canadian County Jail

“Yukon Public Schools were informed late Wednesday afternoon, November 15, that an employee of the district was arrested for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a high school student,” said Yukon Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jason Simeroth.

Day, a science teacher at Yukon High School, was hired to teach for the first time with no experience through an emergency teaching certificate.

Now, she may never be able to teach again.

“This behavior was representative of a very poor decision by a person entrusted with teaching our students,” Simeroth said.

That inappropriate behavior was allegedly with at least one male student from Day’s science class.

Canadian County Sheriff Chris West said the student’s parents became suspicious after his behavior changed so they went through his phone.

Science Teacher Arrested for Having Sex With High School Student

22-year-old Oklahoma teacher Hunter Day has been accused and arrested for having sex with one of her students. Day allegedly had a relationship with a boy at Yukon High School, and she now faces a string of charges, including second-degree rape, facilitating sexual contact with a minor and possession of child pornography.

As News9 reports, police officers were alerted about the relationship by the unnamed boy’s parents. The evidence they gathered included explicit text messages and nudes found on his phone. The day that investigators had chosen to arrest Day, the two had already arranged a meeting at her home and the officers found her as she was waiting for him to arrive. They sent Day a message from his phone, so she kept her door unlocked. Police found Day sitting on the floor of her living room, with the lights turned off and candles lit, wearing a Christmas cat T-shirt and workout shorts.

At this point, after being interrogated by police, she admitted to sending “bra and panty” pictures to the boy in question. She also confessed to having received photos of the boy’s penis.

Day, who was married, taught science at the high school.
