Police arrest suspect wanted in January’s brazen armed robbery at local convenience store

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police have arrested a man who they believe was the gunman in January’s violent armed robbery in Gaston County that was caught on camera.

Back in late January, NBC Charlotte received a dramatic surveillance video that captured a gunman robbing the Lowell Mini Mart on McAdenville Road and attacking a clerk and her teenage son right in front of the clerk’s 4-year-old grandson.

Police arrested Deonte Brice Wednesday in connection with January’s brutal attack. He’s being held under $500,000 secured bond.

Brice will appear in court Thursday afternoon on the following charges: robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon.

Brice’s mugshot is from Monday’s arrest after he was accused of boarding a school bus as a registered sex offender.

Investigators previously said Brice boarded a bus filled with Bessemer City Primary School Students back in January despite being banned from any premises “that have a primary purpose of caring for children.”

Brice was convicted of indecent liberties with a

Spain arrests suspect wanted in at least 5 killings

Spanish authorities on Friday arrested a homicide suspect wanted for months by Italy after three people were killed a day earlier in Spain, including two Civil Guards.

Norbert Feher, a 36 year-old from Serbia, was arrested near Cantavieja, a town in northeastern rural Spain, after he allegedly shot and killed a civilian and two Civil Guard police Thursday, a Civil Guard spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with internal police rules. The police were investigating a Dec. 5 shooting.

Italy had issued a European arrest warrant for Feher for homicides and home invasion robberies. The chief prosecutor in Bologna, Giuseppe Amato, said Friday that Italy will seek Feher’s extradition, even while acknowledging that the multiple homicides in two different countries will complicate the request.

Feher was the subject of an intense, monthslong manhunt after the April slayings of a barman and a guard in Italy’s northern region of Emilia Romagna. Davide Fabbri was killed on April 1 in the bar where he worked near Bologna, while Valerio Verri was killed days later while on patrol near Ferrara.

Feher is now on trial in absentia in Ferrara, northern Italy, for

Man accused of abuse wanted an ‘epic and savage’ mugshot. Others say it’s a disgrace

Brandon Trice Harmon wanted an “epic and savage” mugshot. So he wore a blond wig and fake glasses when he posed last month.

He was arrested in Major County, Okla., on a misdemeanor warrant for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

He has a smirk on his face in the photo. But the family of the victim of his alleged crime is not amused that county law enforcement officials allowed the picture to be taken that way.

“It was like they made a mockery of the Domestic Abuse Awareness Month,” Kathy Lambert, the victim’s mother, told the Enid News Eagle.

“They just took pictures of the deputies wearing ‘We support domestic violence month’ shirts, but yet they let this happen.”

Sheriff Steve Randolph would not comment to local media about the photo, which Lambert saw in the October issue of Jailbirds, which publishes mugshots.

She accused Randolph of giving Harmon, 34, special treatment because the two men are friends.

“Nobody else gets that opportunity,” she said. “It’s just a slap in the face to all the women who are abused daily. It’s a sad crime that happens daily, it was just a disgrace.”

A warrant for Harmon’s arrest was issued

Helena police arrest man wanted by the FBI for meth charges

A man wanted by the FBI was arrested Thursday morning in Helena after police caught him with fake vehicle plates. Authorities say he had a motel room filled with drugs and ammunition, alongside his baby.

Chase Ryan Storlie, 33, has been on the run since failing to appear on federal methamphetamine dealing charges. A federal arrest warrant was issued in June.

A Helena officer noticed suspicious plates on Storlie’s vehicle about 1 a.m. Thursday and made a traffic stop near the intersection of Butte and Lamborn. Storlie, the driver, immediately jumped from the vehicle and tried to run away, according to court documents.

Storlie is accused of clenching his fists and taking an attacking stance against the pursuing officer, who then used a Taser on Storlie.

At first, Storlie refused to identify himself. It was later confirmed he is a federal probation absconder with a nationwide federal arrest warrant out of Salt Lake City.

Storlie’s current mugshot looks markedly different than the one taken in 2013. He had short brown hair and no facial hair in the earlier photo, and shaggy blond hair and a beard in the one taken Thursday.

After being booked into the jail, Storlie made a phone call instructing someone to pick

MS-13 gang member on FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list arrested

An MS-13 gang member on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list has been captured in Virginia after a four-year manhunt, authorities announced Saturday.

Walter Yovany Gomez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, was arrested without incident Friday in Woodbridge, 20 miles south of Washington, as a result of a well-coordinated investigation and tips from the public, the FBI said.

“The apprehension of Walter Yovany Gomez is a prime example of the close coordination between the vigilant public and the hard working men and women of law enforcement,” Timothy Gallagher, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Newark Office, said. “Gomez will now stand trial for his alleged involvement in a brutal murder which took a young man from his family.”

He faces extradition to New Jersey where he was indicted on a charge of committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering. The FBI added his name to its Ten Most Wanted list in April.

Gomez, who goes by the nickname “Cholo,” is accused of killing a fellow MS-13 gang member Julio Matute in Plainfield in 2011.

Prosecutors say that after a night of partying Gomez and an accomplice beat Matute with a baseball bat, stabbed him 17 times with a knife and then slit
